Message from Gorom Association about SEED Program:

Gorom Association provides international exchange activities with universities and NGOs in Japan and Latin America for young students to build a better society. One of the programs is the SEED Program (Social Entrepreneurship Empowerment Development): Undergraduate students from Japan and Latin America learn practical social entrepreneurship through a six-month curriculum which consists of virtual workshops and a study tour to Japan.

In 2022, 24 students participated from various universities: ESPM University in Brazil, Universidad Austral in Argentina, Los Andes University and EAFIT University in Colombia, and some Japanese universities such as Sophia University and Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. Under the theme of “Regional Revitalization,” with the ultimate goal of proposing a business plan to expand the local economy of Yamanashi Prefecture, the South American and Japanese students worked on a series of online sessions twice a month starting in July. They participated in the study tour in December. The final results of the two-week tour were presented at the public pitching event, in which the results of their market research and business ideas were reported to the local producers in Yamanashi.

The pitching event was quite successful thanks to the attendance of the Local Government of Yamanashi and the features of some Media in Yamanashi Prefecture.
